Sitting high on a hill at Kuensel Phodrang, the 169-foot bronze Buddha Dordenma statue is a symbol of peace and happiness. At 3,100 meters, Dochula Pass offers sweeping views of the eastern Himalayas, including Bhutan’s highest peak, Gangkar Puensum. Tashichho Dzong is a magnificent fortress that houses the throne room of the King of Bhutan and serves as the summer residence of the Je Khenpo, Bhutan’s chief abbot. Adorned with intricate woodwork and vibrant murals, this is a must-see site for visitors.
